A car crash can affect somebody’s life in an instant, and it can affect it for the rest of their life and the rest of their family’s life. When the other person does not have insurance, it is very important to talk to an attorney because most states, including Texas, require each driver to have what is called uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage, which means that if somebody is at fault and that person does not have insurance, then my client may have insurance coverage to pay for the medical bills and pay for the lost wages, and things like that.
But the only way that you really can know that is to talk to an attorney about what coverage or what insurance might be available. I have years of experience handling car crashes and automobile accidents. When I first started practicing, I worked in a large firm and represented insurance companies and Fortune 500 companies when I got out of law school.
Since that time, for almost a decade now, I have represented individuals primarily who have been injured in car accidents and automobile crashes. Because I used to work for firms that represented insurance companies, I got to see some of the methods that are used by insurance companies to deny claims or to fight to pay what is just compensation for the person that was injured.
The goal of the insurance company is to pay the least amount to whoever was injured in that car crash as possible. My reputation with the insurance companies is somebody who will fight for what is right and what my client deserves and whether that means we have to try cases because an insurance company is not paying what is fair and just, or if we have to aggressively negotiate, and whatever it takes.
